The positioning system is the perfect solution to create a safer environment for people at risk of wandering. The positioning system helps the staff to locate a resident/wanderer either inside or outside the care home. The combination of ferrite antennas and/or the loops offer a fairly accurate localisation of the patient. In addition to the location, the staff members have also the ability to receive an ID of the wanderer. The MIP / pendant (see Alarm Transmintters section) store the last registered location (location signal picked up from the positioning givers - antennas or loops) and sends the information to the Nurse Call System via the STT Wireless Receiver. The staff members can receive the alarm on any displays (screen, DECT phones, pagers...). An alarm is automatically sent when the resident enters an unauthorised area. The alarm can also be activated manually by the resident by pressing the button on the pendant. In both cases, the pendant sends the last position/location registred to the Nurse Call System. The system can be customised according to the resident. The authorised and unauthorised areas have to be defined for each resident. The positioning system allows for a safer working environment for the staff members and increase the security for the resident. The positioning components give a real peace of mind not only to the care givers and residents but also to the relatives.
